FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: proposed separate-combined piezoelectric transducer can be used for transmitting or receiving ultrasound signals in ultrasonic thickness gauges. The separate-combined piezoelectric transducer has, in a common housing, separated by a screen, transmitting and receiving piezo-elements with electrodes on their opposite surfaces. One electrode on each piezo-element is connected to a common bus. Each piezo-element is in acoustic contact with a damping device on one side and with a prism on the other. In the region of the prism, the housing is provided with at least a shell made from heat-conductive material, the end of which is at a tangent to the working face of the transducer. Inside the shell, in the region of the prism, there is a heat sensitive element, one of the leads of which is connected to the common bus. At the end of the shell, there may be radial grooves. The outer surface of the shell is coated in heat insulating material.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring thickness of material.
