FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: use for ultrasonic controlling objects from solid materials. Essence of the invention is that, according to the ultrasonic controlling method emission into the control object (CO) of transverse waves with horizontal polarization (SH waves) is performed, receive echo signals from it and by spatial-temporal processing of the sensed signals the distribution of the points reflectivity of the material CO structure is received. Information on defects is obtained from this distribution. SH waves are radiated by creating on the surface of the object tangents to the surface of the vibrational forces. Reception of SH waves is carried out by transforming the tangential vibrational displacement of the material to the object surface into electrical signals. Method is realized using a transducer arrays made in two versions, the first of which contains a hermetically sealed housing with a damping fluid and a piezoelectric element with shear vibrations along the thickness directed parallel to the surface of the controlled object, installed inside the housing on a protector which has a point contact with the surface of the CO. Second variant differs in that it contains two piezoelectric elements. Created antenna array with advanced characteristics can consist of converters of either of the two variants that are installed in its housing on the pressing mechanisms with the possibility of reciprocating displacement perpendicular to its working surface.
EFFECT: expansion of the functional capabilities of the nondestructive testing system with simultaneous improvement of its defectoscopic and operational characteristics.
