FIELD: antenna engineering. SUBSTANCE: dual-band antenna has retracting whip antenna 10 and nonuniform-pitch helical antenna 30; whip antenna 10 is independent of helical antenna 30. The latter has first and second helical parts 35 with first and second pitches, respectively; first and second helical parts 35 are made for independent operation in different frequency bands. Whip antenna 10 has core conducting line 12, conducting material 13 covering first part of core conducting line 12 and used as choke, and insulating member passed from upper end of core conducting line 12 to fill gap between core conducting line 12 and conducting material 13. Only first part of core conducting line is free to operate in first frequency band and entire core conducting line 12 is made for operation in second frequency band. Locking member 40 is used to secure whip antenna 10 and helical antenna 30 to radio terminal. Locking member 40 has its upper end joined to lower end of helical antenna 30 and through hole to pass whip antenna into radio terminal.
