FIELD: communications engineering for information services. SUBSTANCE: proposed digital communication system has forward and backward communication lines. System incorporates communication transceiver out of seven transceivers transmitting data bursts over arbitrary-access channel in backward communication line and receiving digital data from forward communication line. System also has base station for receiving data bursts over arbitrary-access channel in backward communication line and for transmitting digital data from forward communication line. System also includes special-purpose channel for transferring data burst between transceiver and base station as well as processor unit for changing over from arbitrary-access channel to special-purpose one when operating frequency band being requested exceeds first threshold and for changing over from special-purpose channel to arbitrary-access one when operating frequency band being requested is below second threshold. EFFECT: provision for shared use of communication channel resources by many users transmitting burst data in pulse mode. 40 cl, 26 dwg
