FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring facilities and it can be used for identification of derailments of train car. Mechanical vibrations caused by contact of wheels with rails when car runs along rails within the range of acoustic waves are presented as signal in range of acoustic frequencies along two channels, namely, left- and right-hand gauge. Criteria are introduced in form of norm of time parameters of oscillations of said signal at random process in two channels in form of double digital code, number of oscillations, tolerable time shifts between random process signals in channels and repetitions of random process in channel. Coordinates of time values of signal are recorded at moments of change of said of first derivative of function describing said signal. Time intervals between said moment are determined and current values of time interval are compared with preset normal value. If current value of time interval is within the limits of preset value and number of repetitions of results in both channels at preset time interval is not less than preset value, derailment of train car is identified. EFFECT: improved reliability of determination of train car derailment. 2 dwg
