FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed is method aimed at limiting critical parameter, such as suction pressure, delivery pressure or compression ratio of compressor station or single operating compressor when said sets are exposed to large quickly rising disturbances. Each set, either group of compressors or separate compressor, is furnished with two integral differential controllers: 1) main critical parameter controller of compressor station or single compressor; 2) limiting controller taking part in control of recirculation valves. In case of appearance of sudden large changes of mass flow rate at delivery side of compressor or compressor station, efficiency of both controllers, operating independently, can be insufficient to prevent delivery pressure rise to emergency shutdown value which, in its turn, disturbs process maintained by compressors and decreases service life of drive motors. Proposed invention relates, particularly, to methods and devices providing interaction of main and limiting controllers. Owing to additional (increasing) action of main controller onto limiting controller, more early and more quick opening of antisurge valves is provided, and pressure in delivery manifold is effectively limited.
