FIELD: radio measurements. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for search for hidden metals, cables. Metal detector has pulse former connected with input to output of measurement oscillator, output of pulse former is connected to first inputs of first and second 2 NOT-AND gates, their outputs are connected correspondingly to counting inputs of first and second counters, their outputs being coupled to proper input of subtracter. Output of subtracter is connected to first input of control unit, input of multiplier and input of indication unit. Second input of control unit is input of detector. First and second outputs of control unit are connected correspondingly to reset inputs of first and second counters, third and fourth outputs of control unit are connected correspondingly to second inputs of first and second 2 NOR-AND gates, fifth and sixth outputs of control unit are connected correspondingly to control input of indication unit and to control input of multiplier which output is connected to acoustic radiator.
