FIELD: shipbuilding; ships of ice navigation. SUBSTANCE: ship is provided with pipe lines with current-conducting rods located inside them. Said rods terminate in electrodes between which electric arc strikes by means of highvolt pulse generator, thus immediately ensuring local heating of water and forming steam. As a result, powerful blast wave is formed breaking ice. According to one version, ship is provided with three electrodes and high-volt pulses are furnished alternately between center and two extreme electrodes. To control power of pulse, center rod is extended irrespective of two extreme ones, thus making it possible to change distance between electrodes. EFFECT: enhanced safety; increased radius of action; increased speed of ship. 3 cl, 5 dwg
