FIELD: electrical engineering; designing, adjusting, and operating advanced power grids. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is designed for use in power grids characterized in high degree of nonlinear power loads which are main causes of load waveform distortions, one of main causes of current and voltage waveform distortions, and hence, they are responsible for absence of electrical energy harmonic components (except for main one). Undistributed sections of power grid are presented in the form of series of homogeneous lines, electrical energy, as result of action of incident and reflected waves, and propagation of electrical energy harmonic components is predicted by solving hyperbolic-function equations with respect to two variables: predicted section length and frequency.
