SUBSTANCE: the standard for determination of contrast characteristics of diagnostic X-ray apparatuses has a set of absorbers of X-radiation of a strictly definite thickness, separated by grooves, the absorbers of X-radiation represent a thin layer of metal of a high atomic number, applied onto a plane-parallel plate of material weakly absorbing the X-rays in the form of concentric circles with grooves passing between them, the thickness of the absorbers grows by steps from the center along the radius of the absorbers and attains the maximum value in point 0.5R, where R-radius of the circle passing through the middle point of the extreme absorber, and further it also decreases by steps to the minimum value of density in the extreme absorber.
