FIELD: vapor-gas fire extinguishers; applicable in extinguishing of any fires with vapor-gas mixture with use in course of fire extinguishing of fire source itself: in forests, on gas-oil wells, in oil storage tanks, at atomic electric plants, water-power stations, in high-rise buildings and structures, in basements, ship holds, compartments of structures, in basements, ship holds, compartments of atomic-powered submarines, structures of Ostankino TV tower type, inhabited rooms, but especially in places where use of water, foam or carbon dioxide is in admissible and also in extinguishing of fires of energized equipment. SUBSTANCE: vapor-gas fire extinguisher has mounted in cylinder spherical pot for fuel combustion in it, exhaust tube and valves for spraying water onto hot external surface of pot and exhaust tube for conversion of this water into vapor and subsequent mixing with fuel combustion products and products of combustion of fire seat it self and formation of incombustible mixture. For fire extinguishing with vapor-gas mixture, supplied to burner from tank through pipeline with opened valve is fuel, and oxygen from cylinder with opened valve is fuel, and oxygen from cylinder with opened valve. Then, fuel is ignited by electric or persoelectric igniter and flame heats spherical pot and exhaust tube. Water sprayed on hot external surface of pot and hot surface of exhaust tube with opened valves from tanks is instantaneously converted into vapor and increases, in this case, in volume by a factor of 1700 (and fuel, by a factor of 1200) with subsequent mixing with combustion products of fuel and of fire seat itself to form incombustible vapor-gas mixture including H2O, CO, CO2, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide. As a result, oxidizer access to fire source is blocked and in absence of oxygen, fire source liberating similar inert gases extinguishes itself. EFFECT: higher efficiency of fire extinguisher end extended its functional potentialities. 2 dwg
