FIELD: rolling equipment, namely drive units of rolling mills, particularly universal spindles of main lines of drive units of rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: articulation joint includes holder, sleeve and barrel-shaped rollers mounted between holder and sleeve in cylindrical grooves and having barrel-shaped central portion and end portions in the form of truncated cones turned to central portion by their large bases. Generatrices of said cones are tangent lines to generatrix of central portion in its terminal points. Radius of generatrix of barrel-shaped central portion of roller surface is determined according to relation: R = K•(R0•sinβ-r0) where K - coefficient selected in range from 1 to 2 depending upon operational demands of spindle; K = 1 for spindles providing high accuracy of rolling process; K = 2 for heavy load spindles; R0 - radius of indexing circle; r0 - radius of central cross section of roller; β - pressure angle at zone of roller contact with grooves of sleeve and holder.
