FIELD: waterproofing of permanent butt joints by their sealing in construction of various installations, for instance, of hollow columns and main pipelines, for instance, pipes with inner diameter of 25-1000 mm, and also in other fields of engineering for prevention of corrosion, reduction of heat losses, exclusion of getting of aggressive agents onto butt-joint place. SUBSTANCE: device has polyethylene shell opened from opposite ends. Said shell is made of polyethylene of high or medium density. Shell middle part of its length is made of noncross-linked polyethylene; and thermosetting end sections of shell are made of radiation cross-linked polyethylene. Length of shell middle part amounts to 0.35-0.65 length of all shell. A layer of sealing compound or adhesive material is applied to, at least, part of internal perimeter of, at least, one end section of shell. Width of layer of sealing compound or adhesive material may amount up to 50-100 mm with thickness of said layer of 1.0-5.0 mm, and total length of shell end sections in not less than 300 mm. Surface of middle part may have hole for air supply in testing joint sealing after thermosetting. Surface of shell middle part has hole for supply of foamed heat-insulating material, for instance, hardening polyurethane foam mass. Said holes on shell middle part are located on its opposite sides with displacement to opposite ends. Device for butt-joint waterproofing has plugs for holes of shell middle part. EFFECT: reduced labor input in manufacture of device and its use in performance of work involved in waterproofing and increased reliability of butt-joint waterproofing with reduction of heat losses. 7 cl, 2 dwg
