FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, torus mandrel is made up which consists of ring base and two side ring holders. Then elastic material is wound onto mandrel by usual method, is pressed by ring cheeks, is cut off over outer diameter of mandrel and is connected with adjacent holder and cheek, and then elastic material is cut off over inner diameter to required size. Prior of assembling the mandrel, side chamfers are made on base, and inclined cuts are made on holders, moreover, coaxial holes are drilled on periphery of holders. Then base is placed between holders so that inclined cuts of holders butt-joint with chamfers of base. Holders are additionally interconnected through drilled coaxial holes into which fasteners are fitted. As a result, base and two holders form non-split mandrel. To fix elastic material over outer and inner ring surfaces of mandrel, axial notches are made on its surface. When cutting off elastic material over outer circumference, adjoining peripheral parts of holders together with fasteners are cut off. When cutting off elastic material over inner circumference, adjoining part of mandrel (base) is also removed. As a last step, adjacent holders are separated and remaining part of base is removed, thanks to which two ready sets of brush sealing are obtained.
