FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for vibration tamping of dry lining powders in coreless induction furnaces and vertical-type submerged-resistor induction furnaces. Proposed device contains template, vibrator with vibration exciter, ring seal with tamping surface connected with vibrator by vertical tie-rods. seal consists of members separated from each other by spaces. Side of each seal member adjoining the template is arranged higher than side adjoining furnace wall. Plane of tamping surface of each seal member is arranged at angle of 15-20° relative to horizon. Summary area of tamping surface of all seal members equals to 40-60% of area of ring formed by summary area of tamping surface of seal members and summary area of spaces between members. Invention is aimed at improving quality of tamping of dry lining powders by increasing density and uniformity of consolidation of lining powder mass. EFFECT: enlarged sphere of application, mechanization of process, improved conditions of operation. 5 dwg
