FIELD: nondestructive inspection of objects of State technical supervision in process of technical diagnostics to detect presence of developing defects with their classification according to degree of breakdown hazard. SUBSTANCE: object is subjected to loading with increasing load with static lag to value of proof loading that exceeds operational load and kept under it for specified time. Consistent interrogation of acoustic emission devices put on surface of object is carried out simultaneously with loading with the help of multiplexer with interrogation period not exceeding length of series of signals of acoustic emission accompanying growth of crack. Parameters of acoustic emission signals making it possible to classify source of acoustic emission signals by degree of breakdown hazard are recorded during test. Length of series of acoustic emission signals is established in the course of time lags under constant load during tests of samples with cracks made of materials identical to material of object by chemical, phase and structural composition. EFFECT: potential for use of single-channel equipment. 1 cl, 2 dwg
