FIELD: gas sources. SUBSTANCE: gas generator consists of body with gas outlet, gas generating and initiating charges located in body and made of pyrotechnical compositions. Initiating charge is located over axis of gas-generating charge, and in one version, it is made in form of composite pressed cylinder consisting of, at least, two longitudinal parts. In other version, initiating charge is made in form of pressed cylinder with axial hole, or it may be composite of, at least, two longitudinal parts. Technical result of invention consists in stability of gas generator operation within interval of temperatures of minus 50 to plus 50C, higher operate reliability (not more than one failure in 10000 experiments), high velocity of initiation from 300-400mm/s to 1000-1100 mm/s depending on design version.
