FIELD: pyrotechnics; source of gas, pressure and stream of high temperature combustion products with stable flow rate. SUBSTANCE: in gas generator of known design version containing housing with gas outlet duct, gas generating charge with axial channel and ignition charge and initiator arranged at side opposite to ignition charge, surface of axial channels of gas generating charge is made armored, ignition charge is fitted on end face of gas generating charge at side of gas outlet duct, and gas generating charge is isolated from initiator.
