FIELD: composites. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for chemical industry and can be used when fabricating cemented carbides. Salt of at least one iron subgroup metal containing organic ligands, e.g. cobalt acetate tetrahydrate, is dissolved in at least one polar solvent, e.g. ethanol, methanol, water, acetonitrile, dimethylformamide. To solution is added insoluble iron subgroup metal salt or hydroxide, e.g. cobalt hydroxide. Resulting suspension may be supplemented by 0.1-0.2 mole triethanolamine (complexing agent) per 1 mole metal or soluble carbon source, e.g. sugar, followed by adding reinforcing component powder, e.g. tungsten carbide powder. Temperature is then raised to evaporate solvent at stirring. Powder-like mass thus obtained is thermally treated under an inert and/or reductive atmosphere. Powder is mixed with pressing-facilitating agent, pressed, and caked to give dense cemented carbide WC-Co. EFFECT: enabled control of contents of carbide and iron group metal, improved structure of cemented carbides, and eliminated separate binder addition stage. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 6 ex
