FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for preparing butyl acetate by esterification of acetic acid with n-butyl alcohol in the presence of acid heterogenous catalyst with separation of water formed in reaction as azeotrope with azeotrope-forming agent and isolation of the end product. Acetic acid and n-butyl alcohol are fed to esterification in the molar ratio = 1.00 : 1.05 and process is carried out in two successively working reactors. The first reactor is reactor of column type filled with acid heterogenous catalyst and the second reactor is reaction-fractionating reactor being its upper and bottom compartments are filled with packing agent and middle part is filled with a shaped cationite being benzene as azeotrope-forming agent is fed to the upper fractionating compartment of the second reactor. This safety method provides the enhancement of the process output and to reduce price of the end product. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 4 cl, 1 dwg
