SUBSTANCE: method involves discontinuous transmission of right-channel line signals and discontinuous transmission of left-channel line signals during these intervals; on receiving end discontinuous line signals of right and left channels are separated and continuous line signals of right and left channels are recovered from these discontinuous signals by means of interpolation.
