METHOD FOR DETERMINING VOLT-AMPERE CHARACTERISTICS OF TOOL-ARTICLE CONTACT ZONE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: working metals and electrically conductive materials by cutting, possibly investigation and development of technological processes and cutting tools. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of insulating tool or article relative to mass of machine tool; connecting them to electric circuit including trolley, registering device, magazine of load resistors and switch; measuring emf of stable cutting process at open state of said switch; at closed state of said switch measuring (for fixed values of load resistance) electric current and voltage values in contact zone tool-article; according to two values of electric current and voltage and according to cutting process emf determining values of electric current and voltage equivalent to maximum resistance of contact zone; on base of those values determining electric current and voltage values of volt- ampere characteristics corresponding to resistance values of contact zone in the whole range of acting loads. EFFECT: possibility for registering complete and reliable information concerning values of electric currents at cutting process. 3 dwg
