Abstract RU 2211780 C2

FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle steering gears. SUBSTANCE: proposed steerable wheeled module with adjustable steerable wheel angles contains steerable wheels installed on steering knuckles. Steering knuckles are hinge- mounted by kingpins on beam and are connected by means of two pitman arms and hinge joints with split cross tie-rod. Split cross tie-rod is made for adjusting its length owing to rotation of rotor of electric motor connected thread with one of its parts, while other part is rigidly coupled with stator. Electric motor is coupled with output of controller whose outputs are connected with steerable wheel position, vertical load and tire air pressure pickups. Change of tire air pressure, vertical load on steerable wheels or their position (angle-of turning) causes changes in output parameters of corresponding pickups. Electric signal taken from said pickups is converted by controller into electric motor control signal. Rotor of electric motor, rotating, turns on or off one of parts of split cross tie-rod, and owing to the fact that stator of electric motor is rigidly coupled with second half of split cross tie-rod, length of tie-rod changes with resulting change of steerable wheel. Invention improves arrangement of electromechanical follow-up of vehicle, reduces overall dimensions of vehicles and increases its efficiency.
