FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of linear dimensions. SUBSTANCE: slide calipers have rod 1 with reference scale 2 and immobile jaw 3 mounted on rod for joint movement with mobile jaw 5 coupled to it and auxiliary jaws 6 and 7 anchored on mobile and immobile main jaws. Auxiliary jaws are fixed on main jaws with the use of clamps 8 and 9 embracing main and auxiliary jaws and L-shaped clips installed in clamps and contacting outer surface of main jaws. Copper coat 15 is deposited on surfaces of clamp and L-shaped clip contacting main and auxiliary jaws. Screw 16 is placed in cruciform face insert of clamp located behind larger arm of L-shaped clip. EFFECT: prolonged service life of slide calipers. 7 dwg
