FIELD: construction industry, test of cement and other binding finely ground materials. SUBSTANCE: procedure establishing milling fineness of cement includes sample taking and determination of specific surface of cement. Graduation dependence of normal thickness of cement slurry on specific surface of cement is constructed per each brand of cement and empirical coefficients a and b are found. Normal thickness of cement slurry is determined per each cement sample and milling fineness of cement is established by specific surface of cement with the aid of formula S = (NT-b)/a, where NT is normal thickness of cement slurry of each sample, %; b is empirical coefficient corresponding to mass of free water, %; a is empirical coefficient corresponding to mass of adsorption layer of water on surface of cement particles, g/sq cm. EFFECT: increased accuracy of establishment of milling fineness of cement and reduced labor input to procedure. 2 dwg
