FIELD: manufacture of platinoid catalysts in the form of metal-and-cloth wire netting. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in production of nitric acid and nitric fertilizers, in production of hydrocyanic acid, nitrites and nitrates and in other spheres where catalytic conversion of ammonia to nitrogen oxides is taking place in compliance with technological chart. Proposed platinoid catalyst in the form of wire netting woven from 0.06-0.1 mm wire in diameter contains alloys of platinum with rhodium, palladium, ruthenium and other metals of platinum group and is distinguished as cloth cell has rectangular form with side relation 1.1:5.0. Optimal value of density of wires per one centimeter amounts in one direction of cloth structure-weft or warp density to 10-30 filaments and in other direction of cloth structure -weft or warp density to 50- 34 filaments. Cloth structure of netting in direction with less number of filaments can be formed by wires from non-platinoid alloys, for instance, from heat-resistant steels. To achieve highest level of efficiency of proposed platinoid catalyst direction of warp of each next layer of netting is oriented perpendicular to direction of warp of each preceding layer of netting while netting is assembled in catalytic stack of reactor.
