COMPOSITION OF NONSTICK COATING FOR MOLDS AND CORES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: foundry; nonstick coatings of molds and cores applicable in production of castings from iron, steel and nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: coating includes refractory filler based on silicon dioxide, chromo-aluminophosphate binding agent, water and liquid organosilicon oligomer. Oligomer alcoxyl group presents dimethyldiethoxysilane of formula (CH₃)(₂Si(OC₂H₅)₂. Hydrolysis of dimethyldiethoxysilane results in liberation of alcohols playing part of surfactants. This promotes reduction of surface tension of binding composition, reduction of viscosity of nonstick coating and improvement of its covering power. EFFECT: improved quality of castings due to reduced hydroscopicity of coating and increased its resistances to attrition. 2 cl, 1 tbl
