FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed cooling system contains engine liquid cooling radiator, cooling fan for cooling liquid in radiator and thermostat to control cooling liquid temperature. Thermostat has housing with flange, starting rod connected to housing by its first end, guide installed on starting rod for sliding, flexible sealing bushing installed around part of second end of starting rod and connected to guide, temperature sensitive cylinder enclosing sealing bushing and secured to guide, wax granules provided in temperature sensitive cylinder to guard sealing bushing. Flange has hole to pass cooling liquid, and thickness of flexible sealing bushing is set within the limits from 25 % and 5 % of diameter of starting rod, thus decreasing rigidity of thermostat return spring. Cooling fan switch is provided to ensure starting of cooling fan at low ambient temperature. EFFECT: reduced temperature of cooling liquid, cut down consumption of fuel and increased service life of engine. 2 cl, 14 dwg
