FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device that can be used in controlled reactors for reactive power or capacitive ground-fault current correction in power systems has magnetic system with two intermediate and side legs and two yokes. Intermediate legs carry winding coils with control converter connected to winding center taps. Intermediate legs have their sectional area reduced by two to three times relative to total sectional area of yokes and side legs; at the same time height of legs equals product of effective sectional area of winding by ratio of magnetic constant to rated conductivity of device accurate to 5%.
