FIELD: electrical engineering; saturation-controlled reactors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed saturable electrical reactor that can be used, for instance, as arc-control reactor in insulated-neutral networks for reactive power correction and for other purposes has electric sheet steel laminated magnetic system with top, bottom, intermediate, and two side yokes, coaxial top and bottom legs. The latter carry top and bottom windings, each of them being made of two parts; starting leads of two windings are connected to one reactor bushing and finishing leads, to other bushing. Reactor is provided with control system. Novelty is that nonmagnetic gaps are provided between side yokes and intermediate yoke and that newly introduced in reactor are two semiconductor diodes; anode of first diode is connected to finishing lead of one part of first winding and its cathode, to starting lead of other part of this winding; cathode of second diode is connected to finishing lead of one part of second winding and anode, to starting lead of other part of this winding. Reactor control system is connected to anodes and cathodes of both diodes. Proposed reactor incorporates provision for fast transfer to maximal power of controlled reactor and is distinguished by enhanced electrodynamic resistance to short circuits due to simplified design of its control system using diodes instead of thyristors.

EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, enhanced operating reliability, reduced iron loss and steel consumption.
