FIELD: manufacture of castings of magnesium alloys in semisolid or thixotropic state by pressure die casting. SUBSTANCE: casting is realized with use of machine having casting mold or die and system for supplying alloy to die cavity through pouring gate. Supply system provides control of speeds of alloy flow. Melt metal passes from pouring gate through controlled expansion zone in such a way that speed of melt metal flow in said zone is reduced relative to its speed in pouring gate. State of alloy changes from melt state to semisolid. Mold is filled with semisolid alloy. EFFECT: enhanced quality of castings, lowered metal consumption, less loss of yield. 30 cl, 16 dwg
