ESCHERICHIOUS ANATOXIN, METHOD FOR ITS OBTAINING AND METHOD FOR ACTIVE PROPHYLAXIS OF EDEMATOUS DISEASE IN WEANED PIGLETS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with preventing gastro-intestinal diseases in weaned piglets due to developing antitoxic immunity. Weaned piglets should be twice parenterally injected with escherichious anatoxinpreparation containing filtrate of formalin-inactivated mixture of E.coli broth cultures of the following serotypes: 0141: K88ac; 0139:K88ac; 0138:K88ac. Injection should be started since 25-30-d-aged period at 1-mo-long interval at the dosages of 1.0 and 1.5 ml. Escherichious anatoxin is obtained due to keeping 1-d-aged E.coli broth cultures of serotypes 0141: K88ac; 0139:K88ac; 0138:K88ac in the presence of 0.4%- formalin at 37-38 C for up to 25 d followed by application of Salnikov's filter. The present innovation enables to decrease sickness rate and lethality in weaned piglets. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl
