FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly mills for cold rolling of steel. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of guiding rolling and backup rolls to stand; performing common rotation of mutually pressed rolling and backup rolls at simultaneously supplying onto rotating rolls lubricating and cooling liquid; setting mutual pressing effort of rolls equal to 60 - 85 % of ultimately admissible value; going on rotation of rolls until their running 4.5 -17 km. It is possible to realize method according to which counterbending effort is applied to rotating rolls. Said effort consists 40 -90% of its admissible value for given stand. In continuous rolling mill mutually pressed rolling and backup rolls are driven to rotation simultaneously in group of stands or in all stands of mill.
