FIELD: hydraulic machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pumps used at production of oil and other aggressible liquids with high content of abrasives. Proposed part is iron casting. Its material contains from 1.1 to 3.0% of carbon and not less than 70% of austenite. At least one of surfaces of part is formed by plastic deformation using ultrasonic tool to form carbide enriched layer on part surface of thickness not less than 2 mcm with content of compound carbides in said layer at least three times as great at carbide content in the rest of part. Content of carbides in layer enriched by carbides is within 3 and 20%. Surface of part subjected to plastic deformation is formed by mechanical treatment of blank surface by turning or milling on machine tool. Invention is aimed at increasing corrosion resistance and wear resistance of part with simultaneously cutting down running-in period of rubbing surfaces, reduced requirements to quality of blank material and its rough machining at preservation of high mechanical of cast iron over entire blank. EFFECT: improved corrosion and wear resistance of part. 11 cl, 2 dwg
