FIELD: tests of lubricants-coolants used in metal cutting. SUBSTANCE: method evaluating technological efficiency of lubricants-coolants used in cutting lies in measurement of length of contact of chip with front surface of tool in cutting with tested lubricant-coolant as well as with two basic lubricants-coolants for which relation of parameters characterizing technological properties of lubricant-coolant are known. Thereupon coefficient of relative technological efficiency of tested lubricant-coolant is found by calculation and on its basis technological efficiency of tested lubricant-coolant is evaluated. Durability of tool is predominantly utilized in the capacity of parameter characterizing technological efficiency of lubricant-coolant.
