FIELD: battery shells with electroplated coat. SUBSTANCE: in compliance with invention at least one side of cold-rolled strip is fitted in electroplating bath with coat comprising Ni, Co, Fe, Sn, In, Pd, Bi and/or their alloys. Electroplating bath also contains such current conducting particles as carbon, carbon black, graphite, TiS₂,TaS₂,MoSi₂. In process of electroplating they precipitate on starting material together with Ni, Co, Fe, Sn, In, Pd, Bi and/or their alloys. Side of sheet steel carrying electroplated layer with carbon is located preferably inside in process of formation of shell of battery.
