FIELD: electrical engineering; negative plates for secondary batteries using nonaqueous electrolyte.

SUBSTANCE: proposed negative plate has pair of current-collecting surface layers whose surfaces contact electrolyte solution and at least one active material layer disposed between these surface layers and containing active material particles characterized in high capability of forming lithium compounds. Preferable surface-constituting material penetrates through thickness of active material so that surfaces are electrically interconnected with the result that entire electrode functions as current collector. Preferable thickness of surface layers is 0.3 - 10 μm.

EFFECT: enhanced fraction of active material in plate retaining current-collecting functions, enhanced specific energy density of secondary battery per unit volume or mass.
