FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves mounting dilator into stenosed trachea segment lumen as permeable cylindrical spring manufactured from titanium nickelide possessing shape memory properties formed by interweaving of two wrapped opposite direction multi-start ribbon spirals having lancet-shaped cross-section with rounded edges. The dilator is removed after granulation tissue proliferating into the spaces between ribbon-like members. Removal is carried out smoothly pulling out with concurrently cutting-off of the proliferated tissue. Device has cylindrical spring manufactured from titanium nickelide possessing shape memory properties formed by interweaving of two wrapped opposite direction multi-start ribbon spirals. Spiral ribbon has lancet-shaped cross-section with rounded edges. The space size between the spirals corresponds to two times ribbon width.
