FIELD: refrigerating and space engineering; filling temperature control systems with heat-transfer agent. SUBSTANCE: first, system loop is evacuated and then it is filled with heat-transfer agent which is circulated in this loop for definite period of time, after which heat-transfer agent is partially drained from loop to drainage bottle at simultaneous drawing sample for chemical analysis. Washing procedure is repeated till required standard pertaining to micro-admixtures is obtained. Then, heat-transfer agent is fully removed from loop and loop is filled with proportioned amount of heat-transfer agent at preset accuracy. All operations pertaining to mixing of heat- transfer agent between storage reservoir, temperature control system loop, sampler and drainage bottles are performed positively due to difference of pressure of saturated vapor of heat-transfer agent which is created by means of heat-transfer agent reservoir cooled by cooling unit or heated by electric heater depending on sequence of operations in filling and washing. Device proposed for realization of this method includes at least one reservoir for storage of heat-transfer agent to be filled and heat-transfer reservoir and units for measuring temperature and pressure in vapor cushion. Heat-transfer reservoir is communicated with evacuation line equipped with vacuum pump, line for filling heat-transfer agent from storage reservoir and line for feeding heat-transfer agent to loop of spacecraft temperature control system including cutoff valves and electrical heater. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; increased service life of temperature control system. 4 cl, 1 dwg
