FIELD: cables used for feeding and heating loads, borehole equipment, and the like in oil extraction, load-carrying cables. SUBSTANCE: multipurpose cables designed to take tensile, crushing, and impact loads in the course of their production, rewinding, trips at low temperatures, and service are manufactured as follows. Two parallel cable conductors spaced apart through definite distance are simultaneously covered with insulating sheaths by extrusion method with stiff insulating web formed between them in single pass; multiconductor multipurpose cable is formed in the course of applying pad and armor on insulated conductors by disposing individually insulated conductors between two simultaneously insulated ones. In the process insulated conductors made of materials having different resistivity and different cross-sectional area are placed on web. Insulating web profile may be flat, convex, or concave. Web is made of desired width, height, and shape. Desired shape of cable is obtained in the course of armoring. EFFECT: enhanced quality of cable, reduced labor and material consumption for its manufacture. 5 cl, 2 dwg
