FIELD: cables.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of power cables with impregnated paper insulation. Method of making the cable involves applying a multilayer polymer coating on paper from adhesive layer 3–5 mcm based on an oil-soluble curing activator of an impregnating composition with a melting point of 90–120°C and an ion barrier in the form of an oil-heat-resistant microporous polymer coating 5–30 mcm with an operating temperature of 150–300°C. Paper-based tape is applied on the strands in a spiral in alternating directions with a polymer coating outward, the cable is dried under vacuum at 125–140°C with electric heating of current-conducting conductors and heating of vacuum boiler with steam and impregnating the cable until the adhesive layer in the impregnating composition is completely dissolved inside the insulation, the polymer coating is separated from the paper base and the insulation and strands are filled with the impregnating composition. In the process of cooling the impregnating composition, the insulation is sealed by shrinkage of the polymer coating.
EFFECT: preventing reduction in the degree of polymerisation of paper and improving its mechanical and dielectric properties.
