FIELD: respiratory organ protecting equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has breathing mask provided with regulator for connecting to source of pressurized breathing gas, normally oxygen, fastening device composed of at least one flexible strap, whose ends are connected to mask, and temporarily inflated member, which may be filled with pressurized gas for lengthening of strap to size sufficient for putting fastening device onto user's head and may be emptied from gas for compressing of strap, for pressing mask to user's face and keeping it in said position. Flexible strap is connected to face part of apparatus through at least one mechanical device. Length of mechanical device is adjusted in the process of employing said apparatus.
