FIELD: treatment of industrial waste water in non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes passing waste water through mixture of metal chips and coke which is constantly stirred. Cleaning is effected at two stages: at first stage, coke and iron are loaded at layer-by-layer coating of galvanic couple made from aluminum-graphite or pyrolusite in form of perforated plate made from stainless steel at second stage in presence of reductant followed by separation of solid phase in settler provided with corrugated plates. Waste water cleaning device includes reservoir with galvanic couple, waste water supply branch pipe and treated water discharge branch pipe, mixing unit and sludge discharge branch pipes and chamber for supply of dispersed air; reservoir is divided into several chambers with circulating partitions between them whose height is above or below level of water flow; mixing unit is made in form bladed stirrers at horizontal or vertical axis of rotation which are built in chambers. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning waste water from ions of non- ferrous metals and coarsely dispersed admixtures; increased productivity. 9 cl, 1 dwg
