PROTECTIVE HOOD FOR COVERING VEHICLE OUT-OF-USE FOR SHORT PERIOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective hoods for vehicles or other machinery out-of-use for short period. Proposed hood contains flexible envelope, support skeleton formed by flexible braces with adjusting loops and support devices and movable stops resting on outer surface of vehicle body and grips secured on lower ends of braces for engagement with lower surfaces of body. One of side surfaces of envelope is separable and is provided with zipper, being made in form of folding side provided with signaling device on its inner side in form of cord with ball placed inside body of vehicle. Rectangular vent ports covered with mesh are made in upper part of side surfaces. Support devices of skeleton consisting of two tubular bars connected by means of spring are made of glass-reinforced plastic, length L equal to 1.05-1.07 of body width B, and are installed for fastening by free ends through extreme braces to inner surface of hood envelope. Stops are provided with through eccentric hole and are arranged on opposite sides of tubular bars of support device for relative displacement. Fixed stop is installed in middle of support device on middle braces for engagement with spring fitted in slot of stop whose height h is equal to its width b, size being found from formula b=/1/05-1/2/d where d is diameter of tubular bar.
