PROTECTIVE COVER FOR AUTOMOBILE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed to protect car which is out of use for a certain period. Proposed protective cover has envelope consisting of central and side panels and device to form arch and trough spaces over surface of car. Device is made up of parallel rolls of flexible material, for instance, isolon stitched on inner surface of envelope. Projecting edges of central panel are placed over corresponding edges of side panels with overlapping, and are connected along lines perpendicular to edges of connected panels. Rolls are made of springs or wire ropes and are placed in jackets. Cord with clamps is located over lower edge of envelope over its perimeter. Proposed protective cover for automobile which is not in use prevents accumulation of condensate under envelope and reduced sail area. It has small dimensions in traveling state and low weight, it can be placed conveniently for transportation on any vacant place in car, is easy to make and is highly manufacturable.

EFFECT: provision of reliable protection of automobile when not in use.
