SUBSTANCE: sealing apparatus for sealing of cylindrical surfaces, such as facing surfaces of two concentric pipes or facing surfaces of pipe and plug or cap, is driven by means of several elongated actuating members made of memory material. Actuating members are arranged around (outside or inside) cylindrical surface. Actuating members provide axial displacement of wedge into gap for forced radial insertion of sealing member into sealing contact with cylindrical surface.
