FIELD: underwater acoustics, navigation safety of submersible vehicles. SUBSTANCE: in compliance with procedure n radiators positioned on equal angular distances on hull of submersible vehicle and oriented in certain manner in space emit HF pumping signal on n frequencies into aqueous medium. Base frequency of HF pumping signal corresponds in this case to resonance frequency of surface bubble layer. Then this signal is amplitude-modulated by LF legitimate signal and is received with the aid of n receivers arranged in certain manner on hull of submersible vehicle. This reception directivity is formed thanks to wave dimensions of each of n receivers and frequency of HF pumping signal corresponding to it, LF legitimate signal is extracted from it. Direction to source of LF hydroacoustic radiation is established by maximum value of LF legitimate signal by way of consistent connection of each of n receivers to device making decision. EFFECT: increased range, enlarged surveillance sector, potential to determine direction to detected sea object above submersible vehicle or on its horizon. 4 dwg
