FIELD: acoustics and applied hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method designed for protecting water intake structures of nuclear power stations against intrusion of wreckers and for use in fish industry to protect water intake structures against biological sea beings includes formation and amplification of high-frequency pumping waves at frequencies ω1 and ω2, pumping signals at frequencies ω3 and ω4, high-frequency waves at frequencyω5, and their radiation onto metal shielding screen of water intake structure, generation of low-frequency wave of differential frequency Ω = ω1 - ω2, generation of high-frequency waves of combination frequencies ω3 ± Ω' and ω3 ± Ω", ω4 ± Ω' and ω4 ± Ω", separation of low-frequency signals at frequencies Ω' and Ω" by detection method, spectral analysis of high-frequency signals, and their comparison with reference signals, whereupon decision is taken on detection of sea being, classification, and determination of heading, speed, and spatial coordinates of sea being, on continuous attack of metal shielding screen of water intake structure where biological sea beings occur with high-frequency waves at frequency ω1 for hydroacoustic cleaning of water intake structure.
EFFECT: facilitated identification of intruder and determination of its coordinates at high sea noise and intensive reverberation.
