ORBITAL STEPPING GEAR-MOTOR Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2215358 C2

FIELD: orbital electric drives for electrical, radio, radio and other industries. SUBSTANCE: device that can be used in orbital drives of industrial robots as well as in radio and electrical engineering for high-quality assembly of high-precision units has running and braking stators and carrier-mounted satellite rotors. Carrier is built integral with output shaft. Rotors are built integral with pinions which are in mesh with gear wheel. Rotors are made in the form of cylindrical disks provided with two toothed layers, first one being made in the form of parallel teeth disposed on edges of disks over generating lines of cylinders; second disk is made in the form of radial teeth disposed inside first layer and within disks. Such design provides for contactless transfer from coarse to fine mode of operation due to contactless locking of rotors and brake drive. EFFECT: simplified design, provision for dispensing with mechanical braking members except for rotating parts, enhanced reliability. 1 cl, 2 dwg
