FIELD: processes for making articles with curvilinear surface of revolution having variable thickness. SUBSTANCE: method for making articles being bodies of revolution with curvilinear surface comprises steps of fixing metallic band onto mandrel and winding it on mandrel for receiving desired-size coil; forming on said coil curvilinear surface with use of reference sphere; mounting reference sphere on mandrel; winding band at shifting turns of coil until resting of their edges upon surface of reference sphere; at winding band on mandrel coating one side of band with polymeric composition material; placing antiadhesion gasket between reference sphere and curvilinear surface of coil; after winding coil performing polymerization of composition material applied onto metallic band. EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance of article, lowered labor consumption for making article. 2 cl, 2 dwg
